Description

A simple DIY turmeric face mask that brightens, soothes, and fights acne for naturally glowing skin using kitchen ingredients.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon turmeric powder (preferably organic)

1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt (full-fat works best)

1 teaspoon raw honey

1 teaspoon sweet almond oil (optional, for extra hydration)

Instructions

1. Start with a thoroughly cleansed face and pull hair back completely. Lay down a dark towel around your sink area.

2. In a glass bowl, combine turmeric powder and yogurt first, stirring until all lumps are eliminated.

3. Add honey and stir in a clockwise motion until smooth. If using almond oil, add it last and mix well.

4. Perform a patch test on your inner wrist and wait 15 minutes to check for any reaction.

5. Using clean fingers or a soft brush, apply an even layer starting from forehead and working downward, avoiding the eye area.

6. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes. Relax and avoid talking or making facial expressions during this time.

7. Wet a soft washcloth with lukewarm water and gently press against your face for 30 seconds to soften the mask.

8. Using circular motions, very gently massage the mask off your face with the washcloth.

9. Rinse thoroughly with cool water to close pores, then pat dry with a clean towel.

10. Follow with your favorite gentle moisturizer to lock in hydration.

Notes

Always perform a patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Use organic turmeric powder when possible to minimize staining risk.

Never leave the mask on longer than 20 minutes to prevent irritation.

Fresh masks are always best – never store leftover mixture.

If slight yellow tinting occurs, it typically fades within 2-3 hours.

For oily skin: Replace honey with lemon juice and add bentonite clay.

For dry skin: Double the almond oil and add mashed avocado.

For sensitive skin: Substitute yogurt with aloe vera gel and reduce turmeric to 1/2 teaspoon.
