Description
Pasta cooked directly in a rich tomato sauce, finished with cream and parmesan for a cozy, one-pot comfort meal in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
12 oz penne or short pasta
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
3 cups chicken or veggie broth
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 tsp dried basil
Salt & pepper
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic 2 minutes.
2. Add tomatoes, broth, basil, salt, pepper. Stir in pasta.
3. Simmer 12 minutes until pasta is al dente.
4. Stir in cream and parmesan, cook 2 minutes more.
Notes
Add spinach at the end for extra veggies. Swap cream with milk for a lighter version.
